LETTER TO MYSELF 3

[10/20, 9:27 PM] Daniel Albright: #Letter_to_myself.

#Day3

I'm a princ

Who's father was banished from his kingdom

And left just a little portion of land for his son

And after being banished he never repented

He lives like he hasn't a son

Do I talk of the present happening

That weary my heart and bring tears to my eyes

There's a chemical imbalance in my head

Mixtures of problems in different dimensions

From different angles scattering my acumen

From my careless father, to the heartless government

To the illegal arrests of Justice seekers

To my poor state

Though, I live like an orpha

I have a king who never cares

Do I break away from him

Bangs of pain descend on my heart

In the midst of this uproa

I run into a solitary place

I switch off my mind from the bustles of the day

I'm quiet, because I know that my mind's peace is paramount

Dear self never let these things take away your inner peace

You deserve to have peace even though you don't have money

[10/22, 11:27 PM] Daniel Albright: *HUMAN IS GALL.

Sp

ecies of different kind

On this terrestrial ball

A specie with different minds

And limits that cracks its walls

We live at the mercy of forces around u

No real power to change very difficult situations

Prone to weakness and the deadly delicious

We don't breathe out of desperation

Given to change and respecting gravit

Blind to the invisible world

Generally controlled by mans depravity

Forces stronger than us can't be hurled

Controlled by our physical environmen

Yielded to nature's call

Sickness inclined and held by nature's cantonment

I've drawn to a final conclusion that being human is gall

[10/25, 4:06 PM] Blossom TSC.: *FACTS AND FALLACIES OF SPORT GAMES TO HUMANITY

Some parents and some institutions of learning often question why their kids or wards are in school to have them exposed to the realities of life,  hence, a part of their attention is diverted into sports. They feel it takes time away  from their academics.

And more to that, people generally do not see much importance attached to sports. It is viewed as non-essential. And as such, it shouldn’t be considered sacrificing time or effort for.

But what happens, when a child considers sport above his/her education? Presently, it is happening, some students shows little regards to education than sports, and that’s because they think contrary to the parents or teachers. Some young boys believe training for football would benefit them in the nearest future than staying in classroom acquiring knowledge that would be of ‘no use’ at the end.

I interacted with a young boy aspiring to be a footballer some months ago. And his perception about his life showed that there was nothing in store for him, besides sports. He had made a decision, a decision that no amount of lecturing to finish up with secondary school could alter.

There are cases of parents disowning their children for dividing their time for sports while studying. However, this is for the determined school athletes who risk the chances of spending their  school fees in order to acquire essential training for their chosen field of sport.

Apart from the ignorance and misunderstanding of parents, what about the stereotype of fellow students and teachers? Based on personal understanding, some students and teachers are quick to put up a wrong opinion on the ones that play sports. Without evidence, they believe such student is unserious in academics and shouldn’t be approached seriously. Hence, no atom of respect for such  athlete.

Also, some religious in the world had made it seem like a sin before God to participate in sports, but where are the proofs to such a conviction. They disperse and isolate themselves from such participants like he or she is suffering from an unknown disease. Where is such law stipulated in the Holy book?

In other to put an end to this applesauce, there is a need to study and understand the grandness of sports on human's physical, social, psychological and mental health.

Sport has been part of us right from the genesis. Our forefathers unintentionally played sports as a means of livelihood. They climbed mountains, hunt animals and swim oceans in order to survive.

Today, people play sports for recreational purposes. They play sports just to ease their stress, but that is not the only reason. Therefore, we can’t deny the relevance of sport in our lives.

Studies had shown that sport is as important as academic subjects in school. That is why children should be encouraged to participate in it, starting from a very tender age. Prior to that, here are few  reasons sports can’t be excluded from the school curriculum:

First, the interest in sports for students begins at a very early stage. In elementary schools, kids see it as a play without the awareness of the benefits. Can parents or teachers ever stop children from having fun at their free time? No! We believe, “all work, no play, makes Jack a dull boy”. Little 'Jack sees the activities interesting and exciting playing it amongst friends and hereto, develop a long lasting interest to try out many different ones.

Then, by college, the young athlete begins to see it meaningful and productive. So, career-wise, he or she sees it as a potential path to follow. Without doubts, there are people who are immensely making money from sports today; be it: football, volleyball, athletics, and many others. There are coaches making a living from it as well. From this aspect alone, taking the salary of Lionel Messi into consideration, many young ones conceive early enough to be a professional footballer.

Secondly, Sports enhances better learning: There is a tendency for students who play  sports, even if it is done within few minutes to outperform fellow pupils educational wise. Reasons being that such a pupil must had gotten a time off mental stress and too much intake of knowledge by burning it out physically. Such pupil does not  succumb to other distractions as he has had enough already in a special way. What he does after is to channel the rest of his attention to what is being taught. And as such, he takes in more information quickly because the brain has been brushed up.

Additionally, It builds and fosters friendship among students. Sport is a way of uniting students in schools. It promotes intra and inter school friendship. Through external competitions, children interact and mingle with those that have similar attitude as them. Therefore, It promotes cooperation and understanding.  Without sports, spending approximately eight hours in school would be so  uninteresting and thereby make students drop out.

Further more, it improves skills. Physical games requires players think and provide solutions to problems, hence young athletes develop and nurture certain skills that give them advantage over others. As a 200M sprinter back in high school, I was told by my coach to always be strategic when it comes to the deflecting path of the track.  It is noteworthy that one can’t apply similar tactics applied in 100M dash in that of 200M curves. That among other strategies make it easier to finish up on time.

Also, sport inculcate students with essential values. In competitions, there is what is called “spirit of sportsmanship” among players. A losing team still respects and have regards for the winning team. While the winning team sympathize and encourage the losing team.  In this sense, it gives the students a good sense of judgement, the understanding that everyday is not meant for winning. Also, it teaches participants not to engage in the habit of excessive smoking, drinking, eating and other unhealthy decorum in order to perform well and win. This secure a chance of healthy lifestyle.

Sport also promotes team work, there is a saying, “team work makes the dream work”. This is where children begin to understand the relevance of working together. There is this quote as well, “iif you want to go fast, walk alone; if you want to go far, walk together”. This discovery brings out the leadership qualities in them. It boost their sense of reasoning and give them confidence.

In some cases, it makes each and every one of them responsible to deliver the best in other not to disappoint the team members. And as a result of that, their general aim is always a priority over individual satisfaction, you wouldn’t stop when others aren’t stopping.  And this enhances: discipline, determination, persistency and cooperation.

The relevance of sport doesn’t end in school. Aside schools, sport promotes international relationships worldwide. It tackles different societal problems.

Football is highly recommended to ease stress after work. Both young and old come together, either in support or against a team. Some have clubs they play  in every weekend. This is a way of deviating their minds from disturbing life challenges.

Since some sports are played outdoors, there is a better chance to obtain more vitamin-D,  and getting vitamin from the sun directly is  said to be more natural effective, compared to the tablets. And the benefits is that it improves mood and lowers the symptoms of depression and anxiety.

Health-wise, it helps control weight among women and men. It aids in controlling diabetes and hypertension also.  Elderly ones now go to gyms to burn out unnecessary calories to stay healthy and active. One needs to exercise in order to enhance blood circulation.

No need reminding anyone that worldwide, sport promotes a good sense of communication. Through sports, messages are communicated effectively. Racism or favouritism are not in any ways encouraged in sport games, which has gone a long way uniting States. This act has paved ways for global growth and development.

[10/25, 7:02 PM] Favour TSC.: The Health Benefits of Peppe

What could possibly be the health benefits of peppe

What is the wisdom or foolishness concerning the rich intake of pepper by the yoruba people? Read on!

All peppers are rich in vitamins A,C, and K, but red peppers are simply bursting with them.Antioxidant vitamins A and C help to prevent cell damage, cancer, and diseases related to aging, and they support immune function. They also reduce inflammation like that found in arthritis and asthma. Vitamin K promotes proper bloodclotting, strengthens bones, and helps protect cells from oxidative dama

Red peppers are a good source of the carotenoid called lycopene, which is earning a reputation for helping to prevent prostate cancer as well as cancer of the bladder, cervix, and pancreas. Beta-cryptoxanthin, another carotenoid in red peppers, is holding promise for helping to prevent lung cancer related to smoking and second hand smoke (inhalation of smoke from anywhere

Besides being rich in phytochemicals, peppers provide a decent amount of fibe

Hot peppers' fire comes from capsaicin, which acts on pain receptors, not taste buds, in our mouths. Capsaicin predominates in the white membranes of peppers, imparting its "heat" to seeds as well. The capsaicin in hot peppers has been shown to decrease blood cholesterol and triglycerides, boost immunity, and reduce the risk of stomach ulcers. It used to be thought that hot peppers aggravated ulcers. Instead, they may help kill bacteria in the stomach that can lead to ulcers

Both hot and sweet peppers contain substances that have been shown to increase the body's heat production and oxygen consumption for about 20 minutes after eating. This is great news; it means your body is burning extra calories, which helps weight loss

So our yoruba people are actually wise in their rich use of peppe
